Sarah Araya, a senior in the Employment, Training and Transition Program at PHS is hosting a “Pay It Forward” dinner auction in the Peninsula High School Commons on March 28 as part of her senior project. Sarah will be donating all the proceeds from the auction to the Community Inclusion Youth Program (CIP). CIP is a program that supports individuals of all abilities, their families, neighbors and community members to come together in a safe environment for friendship, relationships, networking and to have fun. CIP events provide opportunities for students of all abilities to learn leadership skills, meet and make new friends, be involved and valued in their community and become mentors. Every year the program holds leadership training for the youth, along with several friendship events throughout the year. Students also work toward their school requirements for community service hours. Sarah believes in this program and wants to contribute to help it grow. If you would like to help Sarah reach her goal, she is procuring items from local businesses at this time and she would like to invite everyone to attend this fundraiser. Tickets are $10.00, which includes dinner and a silent and live auction. Jim Borgen is the auctioneer. She will have a catalog, naming all the businesses that donated items, which are tax donations. For any questions, reservations or a donation form, please contact Sarah Araya at 253-530-4465 or email her mentor, Donna Forbes at forbesd@peninsula.wednet.edu. Thank you for your support of this worthwhile project.
