Pathway, Plan, Portfolio, & Project
 

Pathway:

An organized sequence of classes, experiences and community-based activities supporting students in career exploration and preparation.

 

The five career pathways acknowledge by the Peninsula School District are:

 

  • Arts and Communications
  • Business and Marketing
  • Engineering and Technology
  • Health and Human Services
  • Science and Natural Resources

 

 

Plan:

A tentative, evolving plan indicating high school course work and extracurricular activities, a post high school goal and plan for achieving that goal.

Post High School Plans:

  • Four-year college
  • Community College
  • Vocational/Technical college
  • Military
  • Specialty
  • Apprenticeship Training Program
  • Work
 

Portfolio:

A collection of student work documenting knowledge, skills and experiences in and out of school. Each student portfolio that coordinates their chosen career pathway and high school plan. The portfolio must contain the following sections:

  • Student as Worker
  • Student as Learner
  • Student as Citizen
  • Student as Individual
 

Project:

A student selected project that reflects application of a student's learning experiences related to a pathway. Each student must complete a senior project that includes the following:


  • A tie between the student's high school plan, pathway and evolving portfolio
  • Community service
  • An evaluation that includes project validity, oral presentation, portfolio completion and written presentation.
